Hamstead Marsall Draft Agenda for the Parish Assembly, May 2025 now available.
New Bus Shelter
Ash Tree corner has a new bus shelter. The original structure that had been constructed over 50 years ago had been renovated a number of times and was found to be in an unsafe condition with a large amount of woodworm in the roof. After looking at a number of options the Parish Council Chaired by Anne Budd took the decision to commission a new Bus Shelter. With support from District Councillors Tony Vickers , Dennis Bennyworth, and Denise Gaines a members bid was placed with West Berkshire Council and a grant was agreed to support part of the rebuild costs. With some extra money from the local Community Infrastrucure Level and free services from Paul Hansen and Chris Moss.

The old shelter was in need of repair March 2024
With the support of West Berkshire Highways, and some fine weather the old shelter was removed and replaced over the weekend of 13th 14th April. New notice boards have also been added and local notices are being updated. It is hoped we might add a number of new features in the coming months.

The new shelter has extra seating and more space for local notices. April 2024
Our Thanks go out to Paul Hansen for the construction, and Councillors Tony Vickers , Dennis Bennyworth, and Denise Gaines for their support and guidance. Also to West Berkshire for their continued support and help.

Thames Valley Community Speedwatch
Hamstead Marshall Parish Council is now a member of the Community Speedwatch Programme with Thames Valley Police. We are inviting volunteers to become ‘Roadside Observers’. Please note, a short quiz is mandatory and any potential volunteer must score 100%. Participation in the speedwatch programme is so worthwhile.
We ask all who use the roadways through the village to respect and adhere to the 30 mph speed limit. The team is now fully trained and operational. On behalf of Hamstead Marshall Parish Council and parishioners, we thank you.
